Support of the United Nations

The Lucis Trust has Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC)  and  World Goodwill is recognized by the Department of Global Communications at the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). As such the Trust and World Goodwill are part of a community of many hundreds of NGOs that play an active role in the United Nations, particularly in spreading information about the UN and fostering support for UN programs. Since their inception Lucis Trust and World Goodwill have given their support through meditation, educational materials and seminars, by highlighting the importance of the UN's goals and activities as they represent the voice of the peoples and nations of the world.

A talk by Marco Toscano-Rivalta of the United Nations Center for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) on The United Nations as a "Centre for harmonizing the Actions of Nations".  "...the will is instrumental in the processes of 'impression', 'creative thinking' and 'direction' which lie behind the truism 'energy follow thought'. Therefore, understanding the will, its nature, its functioning, its characteristics, and the fact that we need to dedicate time and effort to its development, is of fundamental importance. The work to build a centre for harmonising the actions of ourselves, or of nations, needs to follow a specific program. In order to harmonise actions, actions need to be initiated. Many forms of action need to be explored in order to channel the will existing in, and to be manifested by, 7.2 billion people."

September 2014

In 2014 and 2015 World Goodwill and the Lucis Trust produced a General Letter, a video, two issues of the World Goodwill Newsletter, and the World Goodwill Seminar in New York, London and Geneva on the theme 'Towards an Age of Light, in support of the United Nations Year of Light and Light Based Technologies, 2015. Supporting the Work of the United Nations

If the United Nations is to be as effective as it can be, it needs the support of people from every walk of life, for only through the mobilisation of a global public opinion in support of the work of the UN will Member States be moved to fulfill their responsibilities in the international community.
